Evince: A Text Visualization and Analysis Tool
Evince is a text visualization and analysis tool prototype, funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities through a Digital Humanities Startup Grant. The goal of the project is to create an unobtrusive and simple way for scholars to perform simple text analysis operations.
Brian Pytlik Zillig, Andrew Jewell, and Steve Ramsay will work on this project, which will involve several open source technologies and tools. In particular, Evince may make use of SVG graphics, Action Script, Blender, and AJAX to create a modular, attractive addiction to text archives. This tool will lower the barrier for text analysis and allow a user to perform simple visualizations without leaving the page while reading.
