Jeff Downey

Downey is the Quality Control Assistant for the Nebraska Digital Newspaper Project. He began working for CDRH in October of 2007, but worked in other departments of the library as an undergraduate. His primary responsibilities include the organization and inspection of microfilm and duplicates to ensure film standards are met for density, resolution, and completeness in order to be digitized. As part of his work, he creates control images to be used in comparison with digital images received from an outside contractor. Other duties include the microfilm preservation of the Daily Nebraskan and proofing reel to catalogue consistency. He has experience in digital and film photography in addition to a Bachelor's of Arts in English from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
