Brief Curriculum Vitae

Katherine L. Walter, Professor Emerita, was a founding director of the Center for Digital Research in the Humanities (CDRH).

Walter directed many federally-funded research and libraries’ projects, including ones such as the U.S. Newspaper Program: Nebraska, the National Digital Newspaper Program: Nebraska and the Journals of the Lewis and Clark Expedition Online. Walter was co-principal investigator with Neil Fraistat (MITH) of centerNet: Cyberinfrastructure for the Digital Humanities, and a past co-chair of centerNet's international executive council. She served as a voting member of the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations’ steering committee, a board member of the Association of Computers and the Humanities board, a Director-at-Large of the Association of Library Collections & Technical Services, and chair of the Humanities Nebraska Council.

In her role with Archives & Special Collections, Walter built extensive 19th century and early 20th century print collections, especially in literature and history.
