Juan Paulo received his Master and Doctoral degrees from the University of Nebraska where he specialized in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing. Juan Paulo holds part time appointments with the Center for Digital Research in the Humanities, Public Policy Center, and the Geography-GIS department. Since September 2010, Juan Paulo is the co-PI of the 2-year grant ($494,000) titled "Evaluation of Location-Based Services for Police: GPS-Enabled cell Phones and Laptops for Applications of Law Enforcement Patrol" funded by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ). Juan Paulo is the author of the book "Geography of Latin America: A Geographic Information System Approach", published online in February 2011 by Kendall Hunt Publishing Company. Juan Paulo has experience writing grants, designing surveys, data collection, statistical analysis, data visualizations, website designs, and GIS. Juan Paulo was born in Santiago, Chile, and since September 2008 he is an American citizen.
